Tonight, Sunday October 18th at 8pm ET, Entertainment Tonight’s Keltie Knight and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Nina West host the virtual variety show Divas For Democracy: United We Slay. Broadway divas will belt out some of the most iconic musical theatre numbers while their drag diva counterparts match their vocal prowess with lip sync passion and style. Activists and political figures will also appear to speak about the importance of the LGBTQIA+ sashaying to the polls to vote this November (vote early if you can). Among the names on tonight’s bill are Allison Janney, Andrew Rannells, Bianca Del Rio, Cheyenne Jackson, Brita Filter, Cynthia Lee Fontaine, Chita Rivera, Harvey Fierstein, Honey Davenport, Jinkx Monsoon, Jujubee, Michelle Visage, Marti Gould Cummings, Peppermint, Pixie Aventura, Valentina (hopefully she’ll take off her mask), Cyndi Lauper, Our Lady J, and Shangela – can I get a halleloo up in here?
Divas for Democracy streams exclusively on StageIt Sunday October 18th at 8pm ET. Tickets are “donate what you can” with a minimum $5 donation, with optional “tipping” for additional donations. All proceeds benefit Drag Out The Vote’s get-out-the-vote efforts in 2020 and beyond. The mission of Drag Out The Vote, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, is to educate, register, and turn out voters with the art and activism of drag.
