And Just Like That…SJP, Cynthia Nixon & Kristin Davis to reunite for new Sex & the City series for HBO Max

With a video posted to her instagram account on Sunday that’s already had over five million views, Sarah Jessica Parker made it official, the Sex and the City chronicles will continue on HBO Max with a new series And Just Like That

The Max Original series is based on both Candice Bushnell’s book and the original TV series created by Darren Star and will follow Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they navigate life and friendship in their 50s. And Just Like That is executive produced by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Michael Patrick King and will consist of ten 30-minute episodes. Production is scheduled to begin in New York in late spring 2021.

“I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content at HBO Max.

Willie Garson, who played Carrie Bradshaw’s gay best friend Stanford Blatch on the original HBO series Sex And The City and the two spinoff movies also shared the announcement video to his instagram account.
