Revry’s QueerX Fest in Los Angeles 31st May – 2nd June

Streaming network Revry presents their fourth annual queer music, film, and industry festival from today Friday 31st May until Sunday 2nd June in Los Angeles. Billed as the queer answer to SXSW,  QueerX, will feature Vogue competitions, screenings, a Sex & Body Positivity panel, Powerhouse Industry Pitchfests and the Revry Visibility Awards.

The festival kicks off tonight with a party and concert at LA’s iconic Whisky A Go Go headlined by Brooke Candy with her RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni backup dancers Laganja Estranja and Gia Gunn, along with Pink Fly, Jordy and Davy Boi. The evening will end with Maurice the Divo leading an epic Vogue battle. QueerX continues over the weekend at The London West Hollywood hotel with its international Competition Screenings and the Revry Summer Preview including the world premiere of Will Seefried’s Sink Sank Sunk featuring Laura Linney and a screening of River Gallo’s PonyBoi.

Saturday night’s Centerpiece Screening is the new film from the Oscar-winning directing duo Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, YouTube Original State of Pride starring Raymond Braun who will be honoured with a Revry Visibility Award by presenters Johnny Sibilly and Blossom Brown.

The weekend’s Panels include The Power of Body and Sex Positivity with panelists including Out Editor Tre’vell Anderson; The Business of Inclusive Storytelling with the likes of showrunner Ben Cory Jones (BET’s Boomerang) and Deniese Davis (HBO’s Insecure, Issa Rae Productions) and Pioneering A Queer Music Movement with executives from BMG, Arista, APA and artists Jordy and Davy Boi.

QueerX will also hosts a Powerhouse Industry Pitchfest, giving creators the opportunity to pitch projects one-on-one to producers and production companies including IFC, SoulPancake, Powderkeg Media, Management360 and Brian Graden Media. The festival concludes with the  Revry Visibility Awards honouring the bold efforts of an influencer, an actor and a sports legend, Nikita Dragun, Nik Dodani and WNBA athlete Sue Bird, plus award-winning TV host and media personality Raymond Braun.
