Jack & Yaya captures a year in the life of childhood best friends who go from swapping gendered Christmas gifts as kids to transitioning in their twenties. The titular next door neighbors grew up together in a small town in South Jersey, but were able to support each other when they learned they were both transgender. Decades later, Jack and Yaya remain best friends.

The film, which had its international premiere in 2019 at Toronto’s Inside Out LGBTQ+ film festival, explores their unique relationship, drawing on home videos and conversations with their eclectic cast of friends and family.
