Revry’s fifth annual QueerX festival celebrating LGBTQ+ music, film, and culture takes its screening and panel programming virtual, live, and free. The month-long 2020 event’s theme is “Rise Up”, aiming to drive political participation. QueerX TV from Revry is a free 24/7 TV channel, through the month of October 2020, which will host all of the festival’s official selections including international LGBTQ+ short films, digital series, and music videos. Viewers will have the opportunity to screen all entries and vote on their favourites. Voting ends October 4th.
From Oct. 5th-10th, Revry’s panel series, Amplify Voices, which explores the intersectionality of Black and queer identity through the lens of entertainment, sports, politics, and allyship, will premiere new episodes. Hosted by DJ, activist, and entrepreneur Joshua ‘Zeke’ Thomas, the programming will include panels with: gay US ambassadors, James (Wally) Brewster, Rufus Gifford and James Costos; political strategist/analyst, and campaign manager Donna Brazile; creative director and talent developer Laurianne Gibson; NBA Hall of Famer, Isiah Thomas; World Cup Gold Medalist gymnast, Eddie Penev; musician, singer-songwriter and LGBTQ+ activist Mila Jam; and RuPaul’s Drag Race star, Laganja Estranja.
The globally streamed QueerX TV will also host virtual Happy Hours and the festivals annual Powerhouse Industry Pitchfest presented by Final Draft–giving creators the opportunity to pitch projects one-on-one to top industry producers and production companies.
“Revry is excited to honor LGBT History Month by providing incredible content that not only entertains but sparks vital conversations inclusive of all the many important movements relevant to our community today,” says Revry CEO, Damian Pelliccione. “We know that representation saves lives.
