America’s Next Drag Superstar is…Nymphia Wind. Having made it to the grand finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16—which aired on MTV on Friday night—alongside Plane Jane and Sapphira Cristál, Nymphia eventually battled it out for the crown in a lip-sync with Sapphira to Kylie Minogue’s “Padam Padam”. During the lip-sync, Nymphia wowed viewers with an epic reveal which the Brooklyn-based queen tells The Queer Review was an homage to her native Taiwan.

At the official season 16 grand finale viewing at The Edge in New York City, Nymphia Wind spoke exclusively with The Queer Review’s editor James Kleinmann about her RuPaul’s Drag Race experience, having her mother there at the finale to watch her take the crown, that final lipsync, and what she wants to put out in the world with her drag.
