Society of LGBTQ Critics reveals 2026 Dorian Film Award nominations – full list of nominees

GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, the second largest entertainment journalists organization in the world, today announced the group’s 2026 Dorian Film Award nominations.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another leads with nine nominations—including Film of the Year, Director of the Year, Screenplay, and acting honors for Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn, and Teyana Taylor—while Ryan Coogler’s Sinners earned eight nods—including Genre Film of the Year, Visually Striking Film, Film Music of the Year, and acting recognition for Michael B. Jordan and Wunmi Mosaku—and Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme secured five including an acting nod for Timothée Chalamet fresh from his Golden Globe win on Sunday.

When it comes to celebrating this year’s LGBTQ titles and talent, Blue Moon, Hedda, Pillion, Sorry, Baby and Twinless are all in the running for both LGBTQ Film of the Year and LGBTQ Screenplay of the Year. Cactus Pears, Misericordia, Sauna, The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo, and Viet and Nam received nominations in the LGBTQ Non-English Language Film of the Year, while A Nice Indian Boy, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Peter Hujar’s Day, Plainclothes, and The Wedding Banquet were heralded by critics as “exceptional LGBTQ-themed movies worthy of greater attention” in the group’s Unsung LGBTQ Film of the Year category. The LGBTQ documentaries recognized in this year’s Dorian nominations are Come See Me in the Good Light (which also received a nod in the Documentary of the Year category), Heightened Scrutiny, I Was Born This Way, The Librarians and Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story.

Vying for the group’s LGBTQIA+ Film Trailblazer accolade “for creating art that inspires empathy, truth and equity” are Gregg Araki, Kristen Stewart, Jonathan Bailey, Tessa Thompson and Eva Victor. The recipient of GALECA’s Timeless Star career achievement honor will be announced on Tuesday, March 3rd, along with the rest of the winners at the 2026 Dorians Film Toast, the group’s first in-person event in Los Angeles since its 2020 toast held just as the pandemic hit.

“Across genres and borders, LGBTQ filmmakers and performers are telling stories that are bold, personal, and adventurous—often in the face of cultural resistance,” shares GALECA Vice President Gerrick Kennedy. “GALECA is proud to honor a class of nominees that don’t just reflect the moment, but challenge and expand it.”
