BFI Flare 2019 Opens with Vita & Virginia

Following its world premiere at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, Chanya Button’s Vita & Virginia will open the 2019 BFI Flare London LGBTQ+ Film Festival on 21st March.

Adapted from a play by Elieen Atkins, Elizabeth Debicki stars as Virginia Woolf opposite Gemma Arterton as the enigmatic aristocrat Vita Sackville-West. The film focuses on their passionate relationship and the novel it inspired, Orlando.

The 33rd BFI Flare London LGBTQ+ Film Festival runs at BFI Southbank 21st-31st March 2019. Following its screenings at BFI Flare, Vita & Virginia will open in UK cinemas in July 2019.
