Last week saw the launch of The Little Black Gallery’s new queer photography magazine BOYS! BOYS! BOYS!. The collectors edition Volume 1 features the work of ten photographers from ten countries and adds to the growing BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! art platform “to promote queer and gay photography”, which now represents more than 60 photographers from 24 countries including China, India, Iran, Poland, Russia, and Turkey where LGBTQ+ rights are repressed and queer lives are under threat. BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! the magazine is out now available from www.boysboysboys.org and all good newsagents.

“You may ask why do we need a platform and magazine for queer and gay photography”, Ghislain Pascal, co-founder and co-owner of The Little Black Gallery, curator and editor of BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! said, “The simple answer is that queer and gay photography is grossly underrepresented in the fine art world, and even more so in the mainstream media. BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! is pushing back against this and attempting to make it mainstream and showcasing queer and gay photography in the context of fine art photography. Our new magazine is part of our efforts to go global, reach more people and make it the norm. After the success of our sold-out BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! books I hope the magazine will fill the void between now and our next book.”

There have been online and physical exhibitions, and two sold out BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! books. The first published by The Little Black Gallery in 2019, and the second by teNeues | MENDO in 2020.
The ten artist featured in the first issue of the magazine are Alex Avgud (Russia), Domenico Cennamo (Italy), Michael Epps (USA), Serge Le Hidalgo (Spain), Matheus Katayama (Brazil), Krzysztof Marchlak (Poland), Paul McDonald (UK), Niv Shank (Israel), Michael Søndergaard (Denmark), and Tyler Udall (Canada). Here’s a special preview of some their stunning work featured in BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! Volume 1.
